Walking is a great form of exercise with a range of physical, social and mental health benefits, making it the ideal preventative medicine.
Healthy feet allow you to stay active which improves health and wellbeing.  However there are a number of reasons people don’t walk, including mechanical or structural problems with their feet or simply due to tired or sore feet.
Poor foot biomechanics not only affect the feet but the structures above them.  This can result in common complaints like shin splints, aching knees, hip bursitis and lower back pain.
A common misconception is that sore feet and legs are normal – they are not.  Foot problems that affect your mobility should be addressed by a podiatrist.  Podiatrists are university educated health professionals who diagnose and treat foot and lower limb conditions.
Sergio Gonzalez Podiatry can keep you on your feet by assessing biomechanics, providing specialist treatment and advising on appropriate footwear and exercise regimes.
Sergio Gonzalez Podiatry, Dayboro Allied Health Centre, at 4/1 McKenzie Street, Dayboro.  Phone 3425 1777 for an appointment.
