Another grandson has been welcomed into the rapidly growing clan headed by Bob Salthouse.
Lawson Ballarde Rayward was born at home, in Mt Crosby, on Sunday 8th August to Bob and Lorraine's daughter, Amy and her husband Mark.
Amy and Lawson were ably assisted by a Doula, Mark, and Lawson's big sister, Heidi who will be two on August 26th.
Heidi is still in awe, and she strokes and pokes Lawson, who is totally oblivious of her ministrations.
Other exciting news is of Ellie Salthouse who is the daughter of Bob’s nephew, Kim Salthouse.
Earlier this year, Ellie had a resounding win at a Youth Olympics qualifying event held in Canberra.  This resulted in Ellie being named to compete in Triathlon for Australia.
The Youth Olympic Games were held in Singapore from 14th  to 26th August - this being their inaugural games.
Brisbane teenager, 17 year old Ellie Salthouse won Silver in the individual women’s triathlon event.  She then followed this up with another Silver in the team event.  (Naturally the large Salthouse clan are very pleased and proud of her achievements!  . . .  And rightly so!)
In the Mixed Team Relay Australia was teamed up with New Zealand in a team named Oceania 1.- teams were formed according to ranking in the individual events.
Team Oceana 1, finished second, three seconds behind Europe 1 (in 1:19.54) and team Americas 1 were forced to settle for bronze (in 1:19.58).
