Dayboro Police ran their bi-annual charity trivia night in late February 2011 at the Dayboro Bowls Club. The theme was ‘Hawaii’ with all participants attending in full beach and Hawaii costumes.

The night was a huge success and a lot of fun. $3000 was raised for the Dayboro police charity fund which will be re-injected back into the local community through private applications, grants and crime prevention community events. Thankyou to everyone who attended, the sponsors, the Dayboro Bowls Club and the Dayboro Lions. A special thankyou to all the ‘helpers’! (you know who you are)
TRAFFIC CRASHES
Dayboro police are urging all motorists (local and tourists) to take care on the roads in and around Dayboro. Traffic crashes resulting in injuries have spiked recently. Most of these crashes have been caused by drivers’ inattention, complacency and not driving to the conditions of the road. Be patient, courteous and alert. The results of ‘your’ minor lack in judgment or lack of patience could be devastating. Please remember the Fatal 4 – seatbelts, fatigue, drink driving and speeding - and stay alive.
BREAK AND ENTERS AND STEALING
Dayboro Police have received an increased number of calls in early March relating to stealing and break and enters. The thieves are not being particular when choosing their victims and have targeted vehicles, houses, premises and schools. Please do not be complacent with your property just because you live in a ‘low risk’ area. You and you alone are responsible for your property. Ensure your vehicle is locked and all valuables have been removed. Ensure all windows and doors are locked at your house when you leave. Do everything you can to secure your property and call police or Crime Stoppers with any information regarding suspicious persons in your neighbourhood.
