Imagine being dragged to hospital on a horse-drawn stretcher, putting out a fire with buckets of water or fighting crime on a horse.
An Ambulance from our past.
Pine Rivers Heritage Museum is showcasing Emergency Services from humble beginnings to modern practices utilising state-of-the-art technology, from September 11 to November 8.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor, Allan Sutherland, said for 150 years Queensland’s emergency workers have put their own lives at risk to protect our community members.
Mayor Sutherland said this museum tribute was a wonderful opportunity to explore the origins and ongoing developments of those who answered to the call of emergency.
“Residents can be proud of their community’s front line protectors, from the Queensland Ambulance Service to Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, State Emergency Service (SES), Volunteer Marine Rescue Association, Australian Volunteer Coast Guard and Queensland Police Force,“ he said.
The museum in Dayboro Rd, Whiteside is open Wednesday to Friday 10am to 3pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2pm. Entry is free.
