TRAFFIC CRASHES
Dayboro Police have already responded to a number of serious car crashes this year. Most of these have occurred due to the wet conditions and subsequent dangerous road conditions. We urge all locals and tourists to please drive carefully - rain hail or shine, particularly in heavy rain or after a brief shower of rain.
Three of the most recent and serious crashes all occurred in the wet, were single vehicle crashes and resulted in vehicles rolling or hitting trees due to the driver losing control on a slippery wet bend in the roadway. Please slow down, drive cautiously and expect the unexpected.
DAYBORO POLICE. DAYBORO COMMUNITY MEETING On behalf of Ken and myself I would like to thank EVERYONE who attended the Dayboro community flood meeting. The response was excellent and we hope that you obtained some information as a result of the meeting. A special thanks to the guest speakers, the Dayboro community hall committee and to the Dayboro Lions. DAYBORO AND DISTRICTS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN As a result of the recent local floods, the Dayboro Emergency Services are envisaging to furnishing a working Emergency Management Plan for Dayboro and Districts. This document will eventually be used by the Dayboro emergency services in times of a natural disaster at a local level. Dayboro police are trying to collate information from residents regarding their skills and their equipment that emergency services may be able to utilise during a time of crisis. This includes equipment likes boats, tractors and UHF 40 radio base stations and also skills like qualified nurse/doctor, heavy vehicle operator etc. This information is purely voluntary. Dayboro police would also like to speak to anyone who would like to register their details, skills and/or equipment on the Emergency Management Plan for Dayboro and Districts. We are also hoping that particular residents from certain flood prone isolation districts - eg. Kobble Creek, Armstrong Creek, Laceys Creek etc. - will contact us and offer to nominate as their district’s liaison/delegate for emergency services to contact during a natural disaster. If you have any information for us, would like to help, or would like to have your details recorded on this disaster plan, please contact us on 3425 1200. Thank you and stay safe Acting Sergeant, Troy NOWITZKI, Phone 3425 1200 |
