A letter has been received from the Office of the Commissioner of Queensland Fire and Rescue Service dated 28 July 2010.
The letter basically says that no-one is allowed to light a fire in the State of Queensland, no matter how big or small, in the open without a Permit To Burn.
The QFRS has continued its bushfire season preparations declaring from midnight on 29 August 2010 to midnight on 02 January 2011 a Fire Danger Period.
Emergency Services Minister, Neil Roberts, said the announcement meant small fires could no longer be lit without a Permit To Burn during the period. Previously, people were able to light fires that were smaller than two (2) metres in height and width without a permit. For more information, visit www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au The names and phone numbers of your local Rural Fire Brigade Fire Wardens for Dayboro and District, Ocean View and Samsonvale are listed on Page 12 of the Apex Dayboro Business Directory and Telephone Guide 2010.
