Special AGM on Saturday 19th November at 10am in the clubhouse.  For further information about the positions vacant or the special AGM, please contact Caroline Oertel at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or 0423 172 554.

Wrapping up a fantastic season, the Dayboro Dingoes had their combined AGM and Trophy Day on Sunday 9th October at the John Jelliffe Clubhouse.  It was a celebration of successes on and off the field with players being congratulated for their participation and fair play, and volunteers for their dedication and commitment.
Five year medals were awarded to Travis Vetier, Mathew McCouat, Sam Elliot, Holly Gordon and Arthur Springer. Tahra Schoots (U12) was named “Player of the Year”.   The Dingoes also welcomed the induction of three new Life Members – Glen and Karri Lake and Caroline Oertel.
Unfortunately, the crucial positions of President and Secretary were not filled during the election process, which means the Club is forced to hold a Special AGM on Saturday 19th November at 10am in the clubhouse.  These two roles are a requirement of the Office of Fair Trading for Incorporated Associations, which means if two people do not volunteer on or before this day, the Club will be required to close down. Given its healthy financial status, new Clubhouse and an abundance of training equipment and resources, this outcome would be an enormous loss to the children of the area and the community in general.
Retiring secretary and long-time committee member, Caroline Oertel, reported, “This is crunch time for the soccer club.  The same situation came about 5 years ago.  Luckily back then, volunteers stepped forward to take on the vacant positions and the Club was brought back from the brink.  We desperately need the same response from our community again or it’s goodbye Dayboro Dingoes which would be an awful shame”.
Club positions that need filling include:
President:  CRUCIAL
Secretary:  CRUCIAL
Registrar:  NECESSARY
Canteen Coordinator: NECESSARY
Match Day Coordinator:        BENEFICIAL

Special AGM on Saturday 19th November at 10am in the clubhouse.  The Dayboro and District Soccer Club began 11 years ago in response to the growing community and the need to make the popular children’s sport more accessible to the region – (neighbouring clubs are at least a 40km round trip!).  Apart from providing fun and fitness to the local children, the Club has also been beneficial for the whole community.  Home games, held every second week throughout the season, attract visitors and business to local shops, and long-lasting friendships have been formed not only between children but between families.  The Club has become part of the fabric of Dayboro and has a permanent home here if support from the community doesn’t die.
