St Aidan’s Dayboro Anglican Church is throwing open its doors to local families with a series of three special services, and a revival of Kids’ Church (formerly called Sunday School).
A series of services focusing on contemporary issues will begin at the end of this month with St Aidan’s Day, 29 August at 8.30am. Aidan was an early Christian leader who took a close interest in the everyday lives of ordinary people.
The Fathers’ Day service on 5 September will begin half an hour early at 8am, with a continental breakfast of fresh rolls and fruit – a new “tradition” for the first Sunday of the month. “Back to Church Sunday” on 12 September at 8.30am is a chance for anyone who might not have been to church for a while to see what’s been happening while they were away. Libby Hayes spoke at the church earlier this year about her work teaching the children of international aid workers in Nepal in the foothills of the Himalayas. She was an inspiration to the Dayboro church, who want to reach out closer to home. Mt Mee might not be the Himalayas, but families all over the world need encouragement to tackle the challenges of daily life. Everyone is welcome at the church in McKenzie Street every Sunday at 8.30am, and to breakfast at 8am on the first Sunday of the month. If you need any further information, contact Chris and Helen Towsey on 3425 2631 or Rev Chris Johnson on 3285 6333. |
