gallery_elaine_90x73_100dpi.jpgAs the great grand-daughter of Ebenezer Murray, founder of Murray Views, situated in Gympie, Elaine can draw on the experience of previous generations in producing art and sculpture in many mediums.
Elaine is one of the longest serving members of the Dayboro Community Art Gallery and has a wide range of skills including pottery, water colours, oil paintings, crayons and mono prints. Her contribution to the Gallery over the years has been invaluable and her fortnightly clay workshops keenly attended.
Dayboro Day Festival - 31st May 2009
Dayboro Day for the Dayboro Community Art Gallery was a very busy and fun filled day.
The Gallery received over 180 entries for the Children’s Art Awards. Many students from the primary and high schools in the region participated in the annual art competition including Mount Samson, Northlakes, Dayboro and Eatons Hill State Schools. The quality of the work was outstanding which made it very difficult for the judges, including Bob Millar and 2 members from the Gallery, to decide on a winner for each category. Special thanks to Bob Millar, for participating as a judge and his encouragement in regard to the competition.
Every child who participated on the day received a "Certificate of Participation" and for those who haven’t done so all ready, please collect your submission and/or prize or Participation Certificate from the Gallery as soon as possible.
The "Trash and Treasure" and Raffle were very successful too, raising much needed funds for building maintenance and upkeep. Thanks to everyone who came on the day and a special thanks to all the hard working members and volunteers who coordinated the art awards and other activities, both in leading up to the day and on the day.
