OUR YOUTH ACTIVITIES ON SHOW - 6th September 2009
This is to be held in conjunction with September’s monthly markets.  The local clubs and organisations are being invited along to set up a stall showcasing what they have to offer the youth of our district.  This is to encourage our younger citizens to get active and interact within our community, utilising these existing resources.
Come along to check it out - between 10am and 12noon!  If you have ideas about what is needed to further meet the needs of this group, then come along and submit your suggestions.
Also, if you are involved with a group that has not been invited to participate, and would be interested in coming along, contact Lexie on 3425 2260.
DOG FENCE
That fenced in area in Gordon Kenman Park, just on Dayboro township’s outskirts, is not an “off leash” area but a holding yard for the machinery in a nearby project.  BUT . . . We thought it might be a good idea to have an “off leash” area in our district and, to that end, have written to Council to suggest this for when the holding yard’s current use expires.
TRANSLINK
It has been brought to our attention that we could make representations to Translink to have Dayboro’s Brisbane Bus Lines Service incorporated into their system.  This would allow for passengers using this service to use their Go-card, and eliminate having to line up to purchase train tickets as they would all be incorporated into the one fare - with the possibility of fare savings possible also.  After endorsement at our July meeting, we have started  to proceed with this.

Our Annual General Meeting is set down for Thursday 17th September - 6.30pm in the meeting rooms, 28 Williams Street, Dayboro.
The call is out for nominations for the positions of President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Nomination forms may be obtained by contacting Maria on 0438 897 279 or Doreen on 3425 1872, OR emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Completed nomination forms are to be received by the Secretary before 2nd September 2009. 
To nominate you will need to be a financial member, which costs just $5 per year, and have your nomination form co-signed by another financial member of the Dayboro District Progress Association Inc.  In the event that nominations are not received for any of the positions, that position may be filled by nominations from the floor of the meeting.
