FAREWELLS

It is that time of year again when we bid farewell to our little ones who are commencing kindergarten or prep next year.  Many of these children have been coming to playgroup since they were babies, so it is lovely to see them grown and develop into school and kindy age children.  In some cases we also say goodbye to the parents who may not have any other little ones continuing on with Playgroup.  This is a sentimental time as it is not uncommon for families to have an involvement in playgroup for five or more years. 

Those progressing onto Kindergarten next year are Ptolemy and Reuben Cocks, Yazmin Stewart, Leonard Baker and Aaron Reid.  Good luck to Vanessa Riech, Tom Patterson, Amber Ryan, Zachery Zuvela, Lizzie McCarthy, Corey Briese-Marshall and Joshua Little who are commencing Prep.

A very sincere thank you from the Dayboro Rascals committee and members to Jacqueline Hobbs for her hard work and commitment to our playgroup.  Jacqueline has been our Monday Co-Ordinator and Secretary for the last 3 years and has been extremely efficient and well organised in these roles.  Jacqueline and her family are moving from the area for a couple years and we will look forward to there return in the near future.

We had the Disaster Relief Play Van visit our Playgroup on Monday 14 November.  The Play Van resulted from State Government funding and visited flood effected communities throughout 2011.  The van was full of beautiful toys, games and messy activities for the children to explore.    Accompanying the van were 2 early childhood specialists who organised some fabulous activities for the littlies to undertake. 
Dayboro Rascals December / January
Due to the hotter weather and school holidays the Monday and Wednesday groups will meet at the Dayboro Pool until February 2012. 
New Members
A very warm welcome is extended to any new mums and dads who wish to join our playgroup.  It is a very cost effective morning out, with the annual membership to Play group Queensland currently $35.  There is an additional charge of $2 per family when you attend our playgroup.  You will find us to be a very friendly group of parents!  We meet on Monday and Wednesday from 9.30AM behind the ECU Building in Williams Street.  If it is raining still come along, as we have lots of indoor toys and dress ups (we will be inside the council building).
