After spending considerable time and effort in initiating Dayboro Men’s Shed, John Schuhmann has handed over the reins as President. His resignation was received with considerable regret given his enormous enterprise in single-handedly getting the Shed established. The new President is Ben Stafford.
The Shed has now received confirmation of its first grant. Moreton Bay Regional Council has given approval of $5,000 to assist with purchase of equipment.
Given the achievements gained in just a few months, members of the Shed would like to thank the following people: Staff of Pine Rivers Neighbourhood Centre for their sponsorship of Dayboro Men’s Shed, particularly Melinda Fleming – Director, and Amanda Thomson, the Director’s Support and Policy Officer. Members of Pine Rivers Men’s Shed for their assistance in supporting the establishment of the Shed at Dayboro, particularly Sal Barbagallo. Councillor Bob Millar of Moreton Bay Regional Council for his continued support. Officers of Moreton Bay Regional Council, particularly Jacqui Pederson and Denielle Beattie from the Community Planning and Development Office. Members of Dayboro Lions, Dayboro Apex, Dayboro RSL and Dayboro Progress Association which have all fully supported the establishment of Dayboro’s Shed. Dayboro Men’s Shed is always open on a Monday, from 10 am to 3pm. If any men would like to visit the Shed on another day, could they contact one of those below to make sure that there is someone there to welcome you.
Members wish all readers a safe and happy Christmas period. We trust that this period will bring peace and wellbeing to everyone.
