What’s been happening?
Joey Scouts – Thanks goes to Joey Scouts and other youth members who helped on ‘Clean Up Australia Day’ to make Dayboro more beautiful.
This term, the focus for Joey’s is on planting, growing and learning about ‘fresh’ food by nurturing a number of make-shift portable small vegetable plots.
Scouts – In March three Dayboro members were represented in a competitive navigation hike called Butterfly, while in April more patrols will join with other District members to participate in team building activities at Murrembong campsite in Petrie. Dayboro Venturers – Dayboro’s Venturers participated in Central Queensland in Roventure including ‘Operation Archer’, coming sixth overall out of 25 teams. Back on home territory recently, the Venturer camp-oven cooking and hospitality skills were on display and resulted in a delicious roast with vegetables, including dessert, all gracefully served to their parents. Thanks again goes to Venturers and leaders for organising this special evening. DAYBORO DAY “SCOUTS” BOOK STALL Don’t forget to come to the Book stall at Dayboro Day on the 30th of May 2010. We will be situated in the parking area beside the Butcher shop this year. Throughout the year Kylie Brias and her parents (her father is local author Ryle Winn) have been madly working on organising the books and making sure that we have a great supply there for people to buy. So if you like a good read, please make sure you visit us on Dayboro Day. And of course tell all your friends to come and visit us at our stall. |
