SET TO CELEBRATE 21 YEARS
The Hay Cottage Arts and Crafts Association Inc. will be celebrating 21 years in October. Hay Cottage was built in 1872 by Mr Ghoertz who later sold to Charles Hay.
The Cottage was situated at Rush Creek about ½ mile off the main Terrors Creek/Petrie Road now known as Strong Road. The Dayboro Lions club and the then Pine Rivers Shire Council had the heritage trust home relocated to the current site at Roderick Cruice Park in Dayboro in July 1989. Historical Hay Cottage located here in Dayboro is recorded as the oldest habitable cottage in the shire.
Our Cottage has been a place of interest for its historical value as well as being an outlet for members to show and sell their handmade items. Items are lovingly knitted, crochet, threaded, painted, sewn or turned and are available at incredible value. Local Marj Barnett’s pickles are the best you will ever taste and all items are available from the cottage seven days a week – 10am to 3pm. Hay Cottage Arts and Crafts Association is a non-profit organization run by its members.
