by Cr Bob Millar DAYBORO STEALS INTER TOWN FOOTBALL TROPHY
The hotly contested Samford and Dayboro clash in Round 1 of the pre season Pine Rivers Cup Rugby League competion saw Dayboro sneak home 8 points to nil in what, for most the game, was a solid contest with nil all at half time. In a see-sawing match Dayboro lifted to take out the long standing Earl McDonald and Jack Lawson Trophy. The presentation of the trophy to the Dayboro captain by Earl’s grandson, Lance, was a sombre affair as the Dayboro and Samford communities had only just farewelled Lance’s father and former long time player, Rob, who recently passed away.
