Science supremo, Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, will be the guest speaker at the Moreton Bay Regional Council’s 2009 Better Business Event in March.

Known for his entertaining ABC radio Science Talkback show, Dr Kruszelnicki also has penned 26 books beginning with “Great Moments in Science” in 1984 to “Please Explain” which was released in 2007.
His television career began in 1985 as the presenter of Quantum and since then he has reported science on The Midday Show, Good Morning Australia the Today Show and breakfast program Sunrise. He also popularises science on ABC radio stations across Australia.
Mayor Allan Sutherland said Dr Kruszelnicki was an entertaining speaker who not only made science seem simple but also could help people boost their business interests.
“He will speak about his recent trip to Antarctica but also how to get 80 per cent of a result with only 20 per cent of the labour and how this can apply to businesses,” Cr Sutherland said.
“He will also explain how Benford’s Law – which states that in listings, tables of statistics etc, the digit 1 tends to occur about three times greater than expected – will help people file an acceptable tax return.
“Business people can expect both an informative and amusing address,” Cr Sutherland said.
Dr Karl Kruszelnicki will address the Better Business Event at The Golden Ox Restaurant, 330 Oxley Avenue, Margate from noon until 2 pm on March 20.
