Moreton Bay Regional Council’s K9 Clubhouse microchip program for dogs and cats will be in Deception Bay next month.
Have your dog or cat microchipped for $10.  First Sunday of the month – 9am to 11am.
Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Amenities and Lifestyle spokesperson, Councillor David Dwyer said it was a quick, convenient and inexpensive way for owners to get their pets microchipped.
“Microchipping makes it much easier for owners to be reunited with their lost pets,” Cr Dwyer said.
“It’s a safe and routine procedure and one that’s been embraced by the region with more than 1,600 pets chipped since the beginning of the year.
“The program is subsidised by Moreton Bay Regional Council and there is no need to book, all we ask is that you bring your dog on a lead and the family cat in a cage.”
Locations for the K9 microchip program for the remainder of 2009 are:
Sunday, 4 October, Windlass Park, Deception Bay.
Sunday, 1 November, Bunya Rd, Bunya (near refuse centre).
Sunday, 15 November, Woodside Playing Fields, Gardenia Parade, North Lakes.
Sunday, 6 December, Kroll Gardens, Duffield Rd, Clontarf.
SNIP AND CHIP CLINICS
Moreton Bay Regional Council and the Queensland Government also provide “Snip and Chip” clinics, where owners can have their pets chipped and desexed in one procedure.
Bookings for “Snip and Chip” are essential and can be made by calling the Petsmart team on 5433 3000.
Places are still available for the Bribie Island clinic from November 30 to December 4.
