Two award-winning producers and actors are looking for book and theatre lovers in the Moreton Bay region to help create an innovative new stage production.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said Moreton Bay Region Libraries were excited to host the Moreton Bay Writers Project that would create a theatrical production based on the work of our region’s writers.
Wine and Cheese night at Albany Creek Library, phone 3264 5267“Therese Collie and Tim Mullooly, of Playabout Productions, are coordinating this innovative project,” Mayor Sutherland said. “They’ll literally be creating a play on words. I can’t wait to see what they come up with especially since they’re planning to draw from a whole range of works by authors, playwrights, poets and songwriters. “Both Tim and Therese have an extensive background as playwrights, actors and directors and they will lead a team who will research writers from the past and present, read their works and develop the production,” he said. Community meetings to further explain the project will be held at three Moreton Bay Region Libraries in coming weeks. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register by contacting the libraries involved. The meetings will be: Tuesday, March 9, 7pm Wednesday, March 10, 10am High Tea at Redcliffe Library, phone 3283 0311 Friday, March 12, 12.30pm Literary Lunch at Bribie Island Library, phone 3408 1388 |
