A
horticultural display with the theme Year of the Scout has won Moreton Bay
Regional Council a first prize at this year’s Ekka in
The display,
which depicts a Scout’s campsite surrounded by plants, was constructed by
council’s parks and recreation staff from all three districts.
Mayor Allan Sutherland congratulated those involved on winning the Rural
Queensland Show Horticultural Local Government Councils’ Display category.
“Council’s Ekka entry carries on a Caboolture Shire Council tradition and
I’m pleased to see we’ve also been able to carry on the tradition of winning
awards at the Plants used in the display were provided by the Brisbane Bromeliad Centre and Queensland Indoor Foliage and included syzygium, bromeliads, crotons, kangaroo paw, cordyline, melaleuca and philodendrons.
