p3_bob_greensill_retires_100x84_100dpi.jpgAt the August Bi-ennial meeting of the Dayboro Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) Bob Greensill announced that he would not be seeking re-election to the committee for a further 2 years.  The committee now has a membership of 10 which is the highest it has been for many years, so Bob is confident that it is in good hands.
Bob has been involved with the Ambulance Service in Dayboro for many years - over 43 years in fact - with his  involvement beginning when the service was under the banner of the Queensland Ambulance Transport Brigade.  The running of the Ambulance Service differed in those days with each Ambulance Centre being run by a Board elected from the community.  This is where Bob’s involvement began.
On Wednesday 16th September, prior to the regular  meeting,  Bob’s long-standing support of the Dayboro Ambulance service was acknowledged.  In thanking him for his dedication, Bob was encouraged by the Acting OIC, Chresten Reville, Dayboro First Responders, and LAC members to regale us with some stories from those early days.
There have been many changes since those early days, such as the name change to Queensland Ambulance Service and the higher level of training for today’s Ambos.
