Busy, busy., busy! We are planning another great Dayboro Day Festival. What will your group come up with to promote their club and/or to boost their fundraising for 2010?
NEW IN 2010: The Wacky Wheelbarrow Relay will see the participating community groups dressing up, as well as decorating their wheelbarrow, all with a common theme - which this year is “Bushrangers”. Expect your “Wanted Posters” (application forms) in the mail.
Also new will be Debating - Dayboro-Style. Watch for more details on this, our Great Dayboro Day Debate Debacle, in the next edition of the Dayboro Grapevine. WILLING WORKERS REQUIRED Are you able to help with the setting up prior to the start of the Festival and/or with the pack-up or clean-up on Sunday afternoon? If so please contact Mark on 3425 2092. DAYBORO DAY AWARDS Nominations Close Wed 5th May 2010 Don’t be thinking to yourself on Dayboro Day 2010 that you should have thought to nominate a particular person or business! . . . . Do something about it NOW!! Get those thinking caps on and put together your nominations for the person or business of your choice. Remember that the more information you supply the better, as the panel will use this as the basis to make their decision. Nomination forms are available from Dayboro ECU Office. Nominations are to be made in writing before May 5th to: The Secretary, Dayboro Districts Progress Association, PO Box 139, Dayboro Qld 4521. Resident of the Year Award The “Resident of the Year Award” shall be awarded to a member of the community in recognition of a significant contribution to the Dayboro District Community. Submissions may be made from individuals, groups or organisations that have strong links with the Dayboro district. Each submission should provide details of: 1. Nature of the contribution. 2. Benefit to the community. 3. How and when it was achieved 4. Personal effort involved 5. Any other supporting information Young Achiever Award The Young Achiever Award shall be awarded to a person under 25 years of age as at 31st May, who resides in the district, for outstanding personal achievement. For example, achievement could be in any of the following fields: Academic, leadership, sporting, cultural activity, citizenship or community involvement or other relevant areas. Submissions should provide details of the following: 1. Nature of the achievement. 2. How and when it was achieved. 3. Why it was an outstanding personal achievement. 4. Any other supporting information. Business Recognition Award The Business Recognition Award will be presented to a local business (postcode 4520, 4521) not necessarily with a shop front, who support community events, give courteous and prompt service and is making a difference to their business and the community. Details required are along the same lines as for Resident of the Year Award (see above). |
