DAYBORO SHOW - 9th, 10th & 11th July 2010
Now that the Rodeo and Dayboro Day have passed I have been able to sit down and get really serious about the show.  It is coming up very quickly now.
SHOW SCHEDULES:  The schedules are at the IGA (near the pot plants this year).  These will be topped up periodically.  They are also on the website – www.dayboroshowsociety.com but if you have trouble getting hold of one, please ring me or send me an email.
I am hoping to get a Children’s Schedule done again this year – I did it years ago and it was very popular.  It will list all the things that children are able to enter.  It too will be available at the IGA, and on the webpage as well.
ENTRIES:  Once school holidays arrive I will be at the showgrounds more regularly . . . if you have entries that you wish to drop off really early, or if you are going away etc.
SPONSORSHIP:  Thank you to the people/businesses that have contacted me regarding sponsorship and availability to help out from last month’s article.  To our regular sponsors, hopefully I’ve contacted you by this, but if not, don’t fret – you’re on the list to call.
UTE SHOW  The Ute Show is gaining lots of interest thanks to the work that James K. is doing.  It is to be held on Sunday and all the utes are to be on the grounds by 11.30am.  For more information phone James – 0438 855 197, and he will be more than happy to answer your questions.
ENTERTAINMENT:  Some of the entertainment that is lined up for this year is: Animal Farm, Reptile Show, The Rainbows (for the kids and young at heart), Bar entertainment, Mini Trotters, Dancing with Dogs, Fireworks, and a few others that have to be confirmed at this time.  This is extra to the other things that are competitions at the show which will be happening throughout the weekend – showjumping, team penning, woodchopping etc.
TREASURE HUNT:  The Treasure Hunt will be on again.  This year we have two bikes to give away.  There will be two age groups.
Ages 0 -7  Will look for stamps,           and
Ages 8 – 15  Will have to answer questions.
Good luck to you all.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED:  We still need youngish people to come on board to help out , and if you can only assist at the end of the day to put away the showjumping gear on Saturday, rake woodchips for an hour or so, do a stint on the gate collecting entry fees, help out with parking etc, assisting with rubbish clean up – it will all be greatly appreciated.  Contact me and I’ll put you in touch with the relevant stewards.
This time next month the 55th Annual Show will be almost here – come along and support the community in which you live.
